Welcome to our new and updated website! We’ll be filling you all in on our weekly meetings and the new tunes we’re trying out. Keep an eye on this page for any upcoming events.

The band will be performing for BBC Radio Oxford this coming Friday the 19th on the Phil Gayle show, with our two slots due to be broadcast at 07.20 and 07.50
A sound recordist /interviewer, Lilly Mitchell from the BBC came along to our practice evening tonight and put us through our paces with bits and pieces from piping, drumming and interviews.
Please try and tune in, it should be very interesting. The programme is based on the twelve days of Christmas hence pipers piping and drummers drumming.

OXFORD NEPALESE COMMUNITY

Shortly after the devastating earthquake in Nepal, a retired Gurkha Officer, Captain Paudel Tulasi, contacted the band enquiring if one of our pipers would be able to play a lament at a “Prayer For Nepal” event, being held on the 1st May in Bonn Square, Oxford. The event was to remember those who lost their lives and also to fundraise for those who now have nothing. One of our pipers, William Powlett-Smith, went along and amongst the tunes he played were ‘Lord Lovatt’s Lament’, ‘The Mist Covered Mountains’, ‘The Bells of Dunblane’ and ‘The Hills of Argyle’.
Both the band and William were glad we were able to be of some help to the Nepalese Community in this time of great sadness.
